Marc-Olivier Buffet, 8th generation winemaker at his family’s small estate (owned by his family since 1792), pushed the style towards more fragrant, approachable, nuanced wines when he took the helm in 2005. Specializing in Volnay and Pommard - wines often associated with long aging requirements - the wines are instead bright and vigorous. Believing in non-interventionist, organic methods, Marc-Olivier states his philosophy “is to give full expression to our out-of-the-ordinary terroir, by limiting productivist human influences which often disturb nature’s ways and which result in “production-line" wines.” These wines are rarely if ever sold in the U.S.

Great purity, poise and terroir expression here, with silky tannins and vivacious red fruit...This is another Volnay producer to add to the list of those delivering higher-quality wines than ever.
