Delivery Policy

All wines expected to be ready for delivery by February, 2026

Shipping

Due to the restrictions of many state laws, delivery of wine is limited to those states where direct shipment is permitted by law. At the present time, shipment is permitted to all states except MS and UT.  Certain states have special restrictions and fees:

AL: wine  must  be  delivered  to  a  state  store  for  an  additional  fee  of approximately $4 per case of 12 bottles.

NH: charges a state tax of 8% of the total value of the wine for direct shipments to consumers

AK and HI: require additional fees of approximately $45/case for Alaska, and $105/case for Hawaii.

In addition, some winemakers have exclusive distribution agreements that may interfere with BurgDirect’s ability to make deliveries in selected geographies.  These restrictions will be set forth within each offer when they apply.

All packages are shipped using FedEx, UPS and GSO (where available) and our shipping prices include packaging materials. A cold chain shipping option (for delivery in seasons/locations where the temperature is too high for normal delivery) is available at an added expense.

You will be notified by email when your wines are shipped. Generally, our shipper will attempt to pick up your wine and ship it shortly after your order is placed. Because the wines must be collected from the winemakers in France, then imported into the United States before being processed and sent to you, the usual time from order to delivery is expected to be three to four months.  However, in some instances your order may be delayed several additional weeks before the shipper can pick up and deliver your wine to you.  For example, in an effort to protect your wine, shipment of your order may be delayed until it can be shipped in ideal weather and shipping conditions.

Due to ever-changing direct-shipping laws and regulations, the list of states to which your wine may be shipped might change at any time. All wines are sold in France at the domain’s cellar door and title passes to you in France. We will arrange for shipment on your behalf, to an address that you specify, provided that in our sole discretion we believe that such shipment will not subject us to the risk of any sort of legal action or other harm. If you live in a state where the direct shipment of wine may violate the law, we will contact you to discuss shipping options, which may include your giving us an alternative shipping address in a state where the direct shipment of wines to consumers is permitted or our making an agreement between us for the storage of the wine at an acceptable third-party storage facility.
